Su e giù, sussurro tra i solchi profondi scolpiti dal tempo, percorsi da mille e mille passanti.
E’ un ospite possente, silenzioso, magnanimo e accogliente ma con lineamenti rigidi, quasi aguzzi; la superficie rugosa ma non fredda, calma.
Un’anima saggia e sapiente lascia spazio ad una piccola essenza, un’invasione di territorio, raccolta.
Scivola verso il terreno tra tessuti mutevoli.
Tepore a tratti.
Pieghe di panni si susseguono a lisci sprazzi di essere, vivo.
E in questo qui e lì di discesa
terreno,
suolo in continua trasformazione. Insieme di variegati abitanti che cooperano, ai piedi del gigante.
Si snoda tra sentieri di fogliame multicolore in cerca di luce, vita; e nel tendere verso un cielo troppo pallido incontra nuove forme, nuovi mondi, simili, mutevoli.
E nuovamente si porge, si abbandona alle vie del tempo, le rughe della terra.
Un succedersi di direzioni verso l’alto, verso l’altro.

“To the self, to the rest” reflects on the practice of listening, more specifically on what does it mean to be listened to and how do we approach this almost meditative practice. Since listening itself is a form of communication, it represents a fundamental activity in the development of my work. Particularly, the practice of listening to plants or listening as a meditative-cognitive activity of natural places is the starting point of many of my works. “To the Self, to the Rest” is a visual re-elaboration of one of these moments of connection with the surrounding ecosystem.
The photographs depict moments of listening to oneself, to the other and the surroundings. The exchange between the parts is here visualized as a mutable line, capable of connecting and entering into symbiosis with the different elements in space, capturing their traits, their posture, their tone, and then transmitting them to the rest.
